1. Push forward through the thickets and down the ancient jungle path and across the rickety bridge and past the canyon and a leap of faith and into the ancient shamanic ziggurat. Descend through the trap-full dungeon—hallways of poison darts and spike trap floor triggers and a complex refraction puzzle to open the ancient door with the gold embossment, this task now rendered easy thanks to modern science. Find a Quetzalcoatlese statuary and try to slyly remove it from its booby-trapped pedestal and obviously fail because why would the ancient South American tribe allow for even the slightest chance of thievery. Dodge the falling rocks and climb up through the newly formed hole in the ceiling to an ornate and surprisingly pristine ceremonial chamber replete with gold altar and armored skeletal guards standing in watch for a millennium, or more. Cautiously tip over the ancient bodies and creep around the altar to find a door lever and follow the staircase up into the lost vault of whatever name has been afforded this civilization and turn in horror as the giant stone door closes shut as spoils are jammed into pockets and packs. Be chased by the villain through other secret tunnels and caves, emerging high on a cliff face beneath a waterfall and barely survive while he accidentally plummets to his death as some grand representation of the danger of avarice.

2. Hidden codes are viewed in a seemingly ordinary abstract painting. The broad shapes and colors and correspond and rearrange. Walk out through the gallery’s security entrance despite the protests of two guards and their following into the parking lot. A hastily signaled town car squeals up. The driver asks for the location. The flight is long but not uneventful—there is a sexual encounter on the plane, in the bathroom, she doesn’t speak the tongue properly but it doesn’t matter because a good one’s a good one. Penthouse and casino floor, tuxedo (no tails), mixed drinks, large ceramic placards with ‘5000’ on both sides change hands across felted tables. Order something with a base of clear alcohol and ice and flirt with the dealer at the card table, catch her eye so savagely she waits in the penthouse after her shift and after the climactic hand of cards and restroom fistfight. The boat chase is brief and unexciting at night on an empty river. Find the dealer girl tied up, abandoned somewhere—still in her finest shimmering cocktail dress—and frantically ascertain her captor. Thrilling handgun firefight followed by being chased by a helicopter culminating with a fistfight in the helicopter while it falls in a violent tailspin. Escape somehow, figure it out, that’s what the gadgets are for—and don’t forget the last steely meeting of gazes just before the whirlybird slams into a highway overpass. Interrupt her crying or screaming and kiss her. Again. Again. Do it again. Walk her away into the credit sequence (driving’s a good choice, too).
